The Fortnight Network of Experts (The Network)
Our collection of technology experts (both individuals and businesses) who have agreed to use their knowledge of technical solutions to help Fortnight's clients locate solutions to challenging problems.
Individual Expert
An individual technical expert who points Fortnight's clients toward solutions to their problems. Individual Experts are not legally prohibited from participating in the Network by their current employer.
Corporate Expert
A business or other organization with representatives participating in the Fortnight Network. Corporate Experts typically recommend solutions pertinent to their business / current employer.
Associate
A Fortnight employee who coordinates and manages all interactions with a given client in addition to being a technology expert.
Request
A carefully crafted description of a client's problem. The Request must have sufficient detail for Experts to provide salient solutions while protecting the client's intellectual capital and identity.
Lead
A response from one of Fortnight's Experts pointing to a potential solution for a given Request. Leads may be concrete (such as contact information for a commercially available product or service) to abstract (such as an intuitive inference derived from cutting-edge research).
In-Depth Study
Further information collected for a given Lead. Often performed by the Expert who originally suggested the Lead.
Consultant
As in common usage, an individual or corporation who will work with the client on a short-term basis. Consultants are not employees of Fortnight and negotiate compensation directly with the client.
Expert Witness
Expert witnesses are experts in technical fields who assist law firms in a variety of consulting and litigation capacities. Expert Witnesses are not employees of Fortnight and negotiate compensation directly with the law firm.
Solution Provider
Often solutions to a client's problem may be solved through a service or by work that can be performed by another company. Sometimes solutions may be intellectual property, licenses, or products owned by another company. The Solution Provider is the company that is able to provide the solution to the client. Once mutual interest is established, Fortnight brings clients and Solution Providers together and they negotiate directly with each other.
